| A rash has developed over the lower abdomen after an insect bite in the groin. At first I ignored it. Recently I've been trying to treat it. It is itchy and red. Diluted lavendar oil helps with the itching. I've been applying clay to try to heal it. Am I on the track? Is there anything that would be more effective? Thank you. | |

| If you are positive that it is a rash, then I would try some kind of anti-itch ointment. Gold Bond is a good one that has worked for me. You can also find ointment that is made specifically for bug bites; however, this will probably only treat the bug bite and not the rash. If you feel it is more of an allergy, you can try Benadryl. I got bit by an insect last summer any my eye eventually swelled shut. Benadryl was the only thing that worked! Nina, health insurance advisor | |
